From leftovers to TX Gin
In 2015, this wonderful business started at Hoeve Nieuw Breda in De Cocksdorp. In the past, it was quite normal for a large farm to have its own distillery. Leftover products such as potatoes, beets or fruit were turned into house-made spirits. These kept farmers warm during the winter and brought in a little extra income on top of the harvest. That’s how the idea was born to distill real Texel vodka from leftover potatoes. 250 certificates were sold to help realize a small distillery in the farm’s potato barn. It was a great success, and the idea for a new drink followed soon after: a Texel gin. Together with the kitchen team of restaurant Gusta, three gins were developed. A tasting with the 250 certificate holders decided on the final recipe for the TX Gin, which has remained unchanged to this day.

From distilling to brewing in Oosterend
The distillery soon outgrew its space and moved to their current location: the Slotskolk in Oosterend. Next to the distillery, a brewery was established, now home to a wide range of craft beers. At TX, they love adventure and discovering new flavors. This passion is reflected in their limited edition ‘Barrel Aged’ beers – bold brews aged in oak barrels. Perfect for an evening of toasting with friends!
